Hut Garden Offices are constructed of high quality materials to create
a strong and hard wearing building for year-round use. We expect our buildings to have a life expectancy of 20 years plus. All parts of Hut Garden Offices and Studios such as the cladding and roof tiles are are easily replaceable.
All our Huts are manufactured
in portable panel sections ready to be assembled on site. All external timber
in our garden offices is pressure-treated and can be easily stained, treated or painted if desired.
Walls. Hut Garden Studio walls
are constructed in panel form using 75mm x 50mm screwed FSC timber framework. The exterior
is fitted with a high quality pressure-treated feather-edged timber cladding
with an external 6mm ply under to prevent weather penetration. Beneath the ply
is the main frame of the building .
Insulation. On the internal face of the timber framework we fix the insulation. As standard we use Airtec Double Foil backed Insulation which has insulation properties equivalent to 55mm Polystyrene. Alternatively for a small extra cost we can insulate the building with 50mm Rockwool with a breather membrane. Both types of insulation will keep your Hut warm in winter and cool in Summer. For clients who are concerned about noise insulation we can recommend a number of different solutions including noise reducing Rockwool and soundproofed doors.
Roof. The Roof framework is fully insulated and covered with a waterproof breather membrane. It is then boarded with 18mm OSB roofing board,
under-felted and clad with high quality Italian Tegola asphalt tiles that are lightweight and very strong.
Windows and doors. We incorporate
housing quality double-glazed windows and doors. All the window units are supplied
with key operated locks. The door is half-glazed and supplied with a high quality brass
5 lever security lock.
Base. All Hut Garden Offices and Studios sit on 75mm x 75mm
pressure-treated timber bearers.
The bearers sit on a solid level concrete base 125mm deep which is supplied by the client. The base should be laid on top of 75mm depth of compacted
hardcore.
